Raconteuse: A woman who is skilled in relating stories and anecdotes interestingly. Or, you know, who tries to.
Greetings! My pen name is L. R. Gordan, and I am an aspiring writer hoping to connect with and encourage those in similar situations.
I live in central Michigan with my fiance, grey tabby cat, and a few boxes of books that I cannot quite make myself get rid of. I enjoy the smell of burning leaves, the sound of rain on the roof, windy nights, and changing into my pajamas at the earliest acceptable point during the day. I prefer to cook meals that involve three ingredients and a crock pot. My favorite authors include, in no particular order, Flannery O’Connor, Raymond Chandler, Gene Wolfe, Terry Pratchett, P.G. Wodehouse, H.P Lovecraft and the other early “weird fiction” writers, Charles Portis, China Mieville, C.S. Lewis, Pablo Neruda, Donna Tartt, and more, including works of both fiction and non-fiction. I love to visit northern Michigan with my fiance’s family and I wish I had more chances to travel.
And yes, I switch languages in my title. That’s a French noun wearing an English article and we’re all just going to have to deal with it.
I am the author of The Foreigner, and I am working on a second novel.
